The European Centre of Technology (ECT) has been approved to offer additional qualifications on a variety of renewable energy technologies, provided by the European Energy Centre (EEC) and accredited by the SQA.
This Accreditation has been chosen in order to develop the ECT-EEC’s position as Independent Professional Bodies which already provide the internationally recognised Galileo Master Certificate (GMC) to successful participants of eligible GMC exams.
The SQA Qualifications have been chosen in line with the mission of the European Centre of Technology to promote best practices in Engineering, Management, Finance and Computing through training courses, seminars and conferences with the United Nations (UNEP).
The courses are based upon the leading European-funded Project EMTEU. This project, which we have completed with our European partners, aims to provide the required knowledge and training to allow professionals and technicians to become quality experts, working in Engineering, Management, Finance and Computing.
The Galileo Master Certificate (GMC) is awarded upon completion of the GMC exam, taken following one of a wide selection of renewable energy and energy efficiency training courses.
The Galileo Master Certificate exam papers are compiled and marked by authorities and quality assessors such as university professors and experts with up to 40 years of theoretical and practical experience; and independently audited before the Certificate is awarded.
The exams, and the courses leading to the exams, are rigorously and continuously assessed by the EMTEU committee of the ECT to ensure that they meet a consistent standard of knowledge expected within the industry. The GMC-awarding courses are approved following the procedure described here.
The European Centre of Technology has been awarding the Galileo Master Certificate (GMC) to successful participants for nearly 40 years. During that the time the Galileo Master Certificate has developed a strong reputation as a leading award within Engineering, Management, Finance and Computing topic areas.
Participants who have obtained the Galileo Master Certificate include personnel and representatives of major international organisations including Siemens, Energy Saving Trust, British Gas, Nokia, Nestlé, Coca Cola, Solar Power Scotland, British Army, United Nations Development Programme, NATO, Ministry of Defence and many more.
