VOLUNTEERING

GLOBAL VOLUNTEERING PROJECT

Over the past year our team of international volunteers has helped the ECT to promote best practice and knowledge sharing in Engineering, Management and Finance, across the globe.

The European Centre of Technology (ECT) has developed a Global Network of ECT Representatives and Ambassadors, which currently spreads across three continents and is expanding all the time! We have a number of rewarding volunteer opportunities that can help you gain self-confidence and practice new skills.

Examples of the activities our Volunteers have been undertaking include:

  • Working with local government organisations to share knowledge on new technologies
  • Working with local companies to develop new innovative technologies,
    e.g. Solar Tree (see image, right)
  • Writing opinion pieces and technical journal articles on Engineering, Management and Finance
  • Contributing creatively to our social media channels and newsletter
  • Networking to build global partnerships between the ECT and local organisations
  • Helping to co-ordinate and introduce ECT training to local organisations

ECT AMBASSADOR PROGRAMME

ECT Volunteers also have the opportunity to be appointed ECT Ambassadors by the Committee, for those volunteers who show outstanding and continued commitment towards the goal of promoting best practice in Engineering, Management and Finance.

Meet an ECT Ambassador, Kettie Mkandawire, a valued member of the team!

I am an Electrical Engineer with a passion in Sustainable Development in the Energy sector. I have been a volunteer with the EEC-ECT from July 2013, contributing towards raising awareness and best practices in my sector. This award of Ambassadorship gives me an opportunity to reflect on the contributions I have made to the organisation. It has provided me with motivation, enthusiasm and determination to achieve my professional goals and contribute positively to the social and economic lives of communities.”
